Attempt House Burglary - Near You - Windhill Old Road, Idle and Thackley, BD10

Dear Resident,

Residents are asked to remain vigilant following an attempted burglary in the area.

Between 4:20am and 4:33am on 28 August 2026, unknown suspect(s) removed a garage door from its hinges and gained entry to a garage attached to a residential property. The garage had an internal door leading into the home; however, no access was gained to the dwelling.

The suspect(s) left the location without taking any items and made off from the area.

Residents are reminded to ensure garages, sheds and outbuildings are kept secure, and to consider additional security measures such as CCTV, alarms and security lighting.

If you witnessed any suspicious activity, or have CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident, please contact police via 101, or 999 in an emergency, quoting the relevant reference number 13260492932.
